Chairman: Mr David Daniels OAM
David represents Tasmania on the Crime Stoppers Australia Board. With a long-standing commitment to the organisation, he has served as the current Chair of Crime Stoppers Tasmania since 2018. David’s involvement with Crime Stoppers dates back to 1994, and over the years he has played a pivotal role in its growth and success. His contributions have been multifaceted, as he has held key positions within Crime Stoppers Tasmania, including Chair, Deputy Chair, and Committee Chair.
David has a long history of awards and accolades, including being the recipient of the Commonwealth Centenary Medal for work with the Community and Lions Clubs of Tasmania, and recipient of the Order of Australia through work with Lions and Crime Stoppers. In 2017, David’s exceptional commitment and service were internationally recognised when he was named Crime Stoppers International’s Civilian of the Year. This prestigious award acknowledged his selfless devotion, persistent service and the significant impact he has made in advancing the mission of Crime Stoppers. In 2021, David achieved 40 years as a Lion. To commemorate and recognise his years of service, David was presented with a Milestone Chevron Award.
David continues to be a driving force in the fight against crime, exemplifying leadership and dedication in his roles both locally and on the broader Australian stage.

Deputy Chair: Ms Kat Halliday MBA, BBus, AICD (NFP), CPM, IAP2
Katherine Halliday is a senior communications and stakeholder engagement executive with more than 19 years’ experience across government and industry, bringing strong strategic, community and public-interest expertise to Crime Stoppers Tasmania. She has served on the Board since 2022 and was appointed Deputy Chair in 2025.
Katherine’s career spans high-profile national and state-based initiatives, where she has led complex communications and engagement programs across renewable energy and major infrastructure sectors. Her work is grounded in transparency, integrity, and building trusted relationships – skills that strengthen Crime Stoppers Tasmania’s ability to connect with communities and support law enforcement partners.
Holding a Master of Business Administration (International) with a specialisation in Marketing and Communications, a Bachelor of Business from the University of Tasmania, and AICD Not-for-Profit Governance accreditation, Katherine brings strong strategic and governance capability to the organisation. She is recognised for her ability to navigate sensitive issues, lead organisational communication reforms, and deliver outcomes that reflect community expectations and operational needs.

Jane brings strong corporate governance, risk and compliance expertise to Crime Stoppers Tasmania. With a career spanning financial services, law and corporate sectors, she has held senior positions across general insurance, ASX-listed property trusts, superannuation and managed funds environments.
A Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Jane combines legal qualifications with practical commercial experience gained through roles in for-profit organisations and mutuals. Her comprehensive understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory compliance strengthens Crime Stoppers Tasmania’s operations and strategic oversight.
Jane is passionate about helping organisations achieve their mission through robust governance practices. Her commitment to community safety and crime prevention aligns with Crime Stoppers’ vital role in supporting law enforcement and protecting Tasmanian communities. Through her directorship, Jane contributes strategic insight and professional rigour to advance Crime Stoppers Tasmania’s important work in creating safer communities across the state.
