New Campaign to Target Shoplifting

Crime Stoppers Tasmania is proud to announce a campaign to combat shoplifting across the State. The campaign was launched in Launceston on Thursday 11 May 2017.

This Campaign is based upon preliminary background research including early feedback from key Crime Stoppers Tasmania stakeholders. This campaign is an innovative approach to early implementation that incorporates specific requirements relevant to businesses operating in Tasmania.

The main aim of the shoplifting campaign is to:

“Empower Tasmanian businesses to report, reduce and prevent incidences of shoplifting.”

This objective supports the overall purpose of Crime Stoppers Tasmania’s Business Crime Strategy, which is to:

“Enhance business confidence by reducing the cost of crime against Tasmanian businesses.”

In this way, Crime Stoppers Tasmania can play a valuable role in assisting with delivery of stronger economic growth that leads to higher standards of living and increased opportunities for all Tasmanians.
