Know Them? Name Them!

Crime Stoppers Tasmania’s Know Them? Name Them! is a proven community-led retail safety campaign that uses social media to identify suspected shoplifters and reduce retail crime.

The campaign engages local communities to work alongside retailers and Tasmania Police, creating a network of eyes and ears aimed at protecting local businesses.

This innovative retail safety campaign delivers real results for local businesses facing the growing challenge of shoplifting, staff intimidation, and antisocial behaviour.

Launching the North West program in Devonport and Burnie, it was great for General Manager Aldo Antolli to have the support of retailer Bunnings, Alison Jarman Mayor of Devonport City Council, Teeny Brumby Mayor of Burnie City Council and Tasmania Police.

In just 9 weeks, our great Crime Stoppers community across Tasmania, has helped to identify 15 of the 24 suspects we have been seeking. That’s 66% known and named! Thank you to our anonymous tipsters! As a result, Tasmania Police investigations have led to several offenders charged and are ongoing.

Support our program for a safer Tasmania!
